Thanks very much Bruno, I just returned your PM, read it whenever you have time.

I now have the manual in front of me too, and unfortuntely Escher is the only one coming to mind with the more isometric pieces.

'Kenji Kaido' is how his name is in the manual, rather than 'Kanji'. Easy mistake/typo to make - I know.

Did not however know he had any part in the pieces of art, that's excellent.

I decided to place the names of Ueda and Kaido because they are the authors of the game I present in the post. I can't announce the picture proper because it lacks a title and an author's signature.

Escher is an optic artist, so the majority of his works consist of impossible objects or architectural compositions. However, I can see how that particular picture of the manual might bring emblematic works such as Relativity and Waterfall to mind. When I visit those early sketches I think of a mesh of styles: Piranesi, Böcklin, de Chirico. Eclectic is le mot juste!
